MOUNT JOY (2015) An Indie Rock Romance
With an upcoming national tour, musicians in the local Pennsylvania band The Living Daylights are on the verge of making it big. But the sudden disappearance of the lead singer's girlfriend and her devastating secret could end it all. With a pulsing indie rock soundtrack, this award-winning film packs a sonic and emotional punch. MOUNT JOY is a portrait of what it means to sacrifice everything for the dreams of those you love.
MOUNT JOY toured the festival circuit in 2014, picking up Best Picture Awards along with awards for it leading actor and leading actress. In 2015 the film enjoyed an east coast theatrical release and was aired on all major cable VOD platforms. It was picked up by Glass House Distribution and can now be seen on: iTunes and Amazon Prime.
“MOUNT JOY’s script hits all the right notes and the visuals, courtesy of the under-appreciated Panavision Genesis camera, are frequently fantastic. The performances that centre it and the soundtrack that drives it deserve to find an audience.”
“There’s indie-rock authenticity and real filmmaking chops to MOUNT JOY.”
Actor and Musician Jay Della Valle as the lead singer in the fictitious band: The Living Daylights
JENNIFER, 42 (in development) An Animated True Crime Doc
JENNIFER, 42 tells the compelling true story of Jennifer Magnano, a suburban mom of three, and her journey through a brutally abusive marriage, the family’s daring escape, and their battle to be free from the coercive control and violence of husband and father Scott. The story is told by Jennifer’s three children, her best friend, and experts who were directly involved in their case.
The circumstances and conditions that created this perfect-storm-catastrophe for the Magnano family, are the same ones that see three women per day killed by their male partners in the US. These numbers, sadly, have not changed much since the 1970s. JENNIFER, 42 is a crucial cautionary tale for this time of #metoo, Time’sUp and female reckoning, that crushes everything we think we know about domestic violence.
Directed by Elle Kamihira, Animation Director: Yulia Ruditskaya, Produced by Katie Hyde, Executive Producer: Laura Richards.
